Train Like a High-Performance Athlete—Anytime, Anywhere - with our Year-round training program for young hockey players, ages 6-13years.  This program focuses on foundational athletic skills, hockey specific training in a fun and engaging way to improve Speed, Strength, Coordination, Mobility, and Hockey Skills to compete at their best. What the Program Looks like: ✔ Offseason – Build the foundation (training 3x/week training + mindset & nutrition) Preseason – Prep for competition (training 3x -focus, fueling, and sharpening skills) In-Season – Perform & maintain (training 1-2 x lighter load, game-focused) Postseason – Recover & reset (training 2x per week, reflection, recovery, and goals) Each month a new program will be loaded onto the website to follow along. The training sessions are pre-recorded 20-40 min​​ - easy to follow - your kid can press play and get started! Some of the training is repeated (repetition is key especially for young athletes) and the training is progressive through the off-season. The Program helps your athlete set up their weekly training schedule to create a solid routine along with nutrition and mindset tools to help them perform at their best. DAVID BLAIS

David Blais is the founder of Blais Performance and Wellness, bringing over 20 years of experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.

 

Throughout his career, he has worked with thousands of athletes across all age groups, with a deep passion for helping each one reach their full potential.

At Blais Performance and Wellness, the focus is on individual development—on and off the ice. Dave believes that true growth comes from a commitment to training, proper nutrition, and effective recovery strategies.

Now expanding into the online space, Coach Blais is excited to offer athletes even more tools, accountability, and support to fuel their development. He understands the acess and timing limitations for young hockey players - with a young hockey player of his own - and the desire these athletes have to compete at the highest level.  He created this program for young hockey players who want to to take their game to another level.  Access to training at home and on the road - in season and offseason.

 

His mission is to empower athletes through knowledge, commitment and community, wherever they train.

  • What is Blais Performance Online?
    This is a 12-month online off-ice hockey program designed to help young hockey players improve their strength, speed and overall athleticism. It adapts to the needs of each part of the hockey season, focusing on four core pillars: Training, Nutrition, Mindset, and Accountability. The training program is built to help athletes develop foundational athletic skill - body control, balance, stability and body strength - and use the foundation to improve speed, quickness and power. Each month, you'll receive materials tailored to these areas to support your athlete's growth and development.
  • What makes Blais Online different from other programs?
    Dave Blais has built a reputation as being one of the best in the business. His in person training has grown to be so popular that his schedule is now overflowing. Blais Online has been carefully crafted for over 2 years now to add the same level of in-person training, plus added benefits. Unlike most programs, Blais Online is suited to the hockey season. Each training session, each week, each month is designed specifically for your young athlete's schedule, just like a professional hockey player would have. Our philosophy is building a solid foundation for athletics. We teach fundamentals for strength, power and speed and hockey specific techniques to improve a young athletes game. We will help your young athlete where they are and help them to grow both on and off the ice.
  • Is the program suitable for all skill levels?
    Is the program suitable for all skill levels? Yes! This program is specifically designed for kids aged 6–13 who are motivated to put in extra work at home wanting to get better. It accommodates multiple skill levels but requires focus, coachability, and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Where can I watch?
    Blais Performance is a follow along coaching program that can be watched anywhere you'd like including your smartphone, Tablet, TV, or laptop. Tune into the training session for the day and athletes can easily get to work and follow along.
  • What is included in the membership?
    Access to a complete hockey training program including: Workouts, Nutrition, Mindset and accountability to help you reach your goals. Each month the program is updated based on a hockey players season and the focus for the month. Eg. April focus - Speed work to get ready for tryouts - Training 2 x per week recommended June - August - Building strength and power to get ready for the season - Training recommended 3-4x per week. (The program include some PDF forms and other video information as you go)
  • Can this program complement in-season training, or is it for the off-season?
    This program is designed to work year-round. Whether it’s in-season or off-season, the training plan is structured to align with the time of year, ensuring your athlete stays consistent and progresses effectively. Our program is built around Long-Term Athlete Development — not quick fixes. We train athletes to: Build strength, speed and athletic performance in their growing bodies Move with control and confidence Develop speed that lasts Stay focused and consistent all year Take Trainig And their Game to Another level. Real development takes time, consistency and commitment. Do this program in season and off-season to dominate the ice!
  • What equipment is needed?
    Blais Online was made to complete at home, in your living room, basement, garage etc. Each module will provide a list of required equipment which can be found in your home. Examples: Hockey stick Golf ball Ball cap Hockey Tape Tennis Ball Weights or gym equipment are not required.
  • How long are the workouts, and how many days per week should they be done?
    The program follows the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, with training schedules varying by season. In-season: Fewer training days to avoid burnout but stick work on coordination skills and strength (1–2 sessions per week). Off-season: More frequent sessions to build your speed, agility, strength and endurance (3–4 sessions per week). Each workout is 20–40 minutes long, making it easy to fit into busy schedules.
  • I already train in person, should I do this program?
    Blais Online is recommended for anyone looking to increase your training. If you are already training in person, and would like to add another workout to your weekly schedule, this could be a very affordable option.
  • What happens if I miss a workout?
    Blais Online is built to be flexible. You will get what you put into it. We recommend athletes aim to complete 50% or more of training, and it is up to you to decide how committed you would like to be above that.
  • What happens if I get sick or injured?
    Blais Online is designed to be flexible. If you have to skip a week, or even a month, it is always easy to jump back in and continue. There are also plenty of non physical modules (nutrition, mindset etc.) that can be completed through illness or injury.
  • Is the nutrition advice personalized?
    No, the program provides general nutrition guidance and does not include personalized meal plans. The focus is on introducing key concepts to help young athletes build a foundation for healthy eating habits. The program includes short, easy-to-understand video tips on nutrition, designed to guide athletes toward better food choices for energy, recovery, and overall performance. ********dietary restrictions or special diets********* The nutrition content is general and may not address specific dietary restrictions. Families should review the advice and determine its suitability for their athlete's needs.
  • Is there a trial or money back guarantee?
    Blais Online is priced for value. The structure provides one of the most important factors in gaining results... Accountability. For this reason we do not offer trials or month to month plans as we believe the price for one year is delivered in the first month alone. If you are unsatisfied, please reach out and we would love to hear your feedback.
  • Are there any live sessions?
    Blais Online is just that. An online program completed from home on your schedule. We will be offering live sessions throughout the year to help with player development and to ask questions. Looking forward to "meeting" you online!
  • How much commitment is required?
    Blais online is the most flexible training available. Each week has sessions to complete. You decide what days and times work best for your schedule. If you miss a session, a week or even a month, it is easy to jump back in and continue.
